ManageEngine Streamlines MDM Enrollment by Leveraging Apple DEP, KNOX Mobile Enrollment, NFC

Published Aug 23, 2015

ManageEngine, the real-time IT management company, today announced support for the Apple Device Enrollment Program (DEP) and Samsung KNOX Mobile Enrollment in Mobile Device Manager Plus, its enterprise mobility management solution. Mobile Device Manager Plus also gains a utility to enroll Android devices using near field communication (NFC). Targeting mobile-first IT departments and end users, the support for these programs automates the enrollment of corporate-owned Apple and Samsung devices in Mobile Device Manager Plus during device setup and enables the enrollment of mass quantities of devices at once.

Before the introduction of this solution, IT teams were tasked with setting up each device separately. The IT admin’s chore is now made easy as device enrollment can be delegated to the end user. The need for a staging process can be completely eliminated as account settings and access to IT services are immediately configured on the devices, making it easy for every end user — even those who are less tech-savvy.

“Based on the interactions with our customers, we felt a great need to provide stronger control over the devices and do away with the complex and tedious process of device enrollment,” said Mathivanan Venkatachalam, Director of Product Management at ManageEngine. “The latest enhancements to Mobile Device Manager Plus empower IT admins by ensuring management of devices at all times. Furthermore, their tasks are made more flexible and easy, thus saving time.”

Key highlights of the enrollment capabilities introduced in Mobile Device Manager Plus include:

• Integration with DEP and KNOX Mobile Enrollment
o Out-of-the-box experience – Immediate and seamless configuration with zero-touch provisioning
o Ongoing management – Mandatory enrollment upon device activation

Additionally, with DEP, supervision mode on an iOS device can be wirelessly enabled as part of the setup process to give IT teams better control over their devices.

• Enrollment of Android devices using NFC
o Mobile Device Manager Plus leverages NFC to simplify and expedite the enrollment process of other, non-KNOX Android devices.

Pricing and Availability
Mobile Device Manager Plus, with these newly added features, is available immediately. Prices start at $15 per device, per year. The Free Edition of Mobile Device Manager Plus manages up to five mobile devices. In addition, a free, fully functional, 30-day trial version is available for download at https://www.manageengine.com/mobile-device-management/download.html.
