Ip Telephony … It Is The Time …
After ten years of development, IP Telephony Solution is finally a grown-up technology. IP Telephony Solution is based on end-to-end Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) technology, which allows the integration between voice calls and data applications over IP-based data networks and the Internet. For the last century, telephone technology has largely been proprietary. The interoperability with desktop and other applications, if not impossible, was tremendously expensive, very rare and hard to implement. Phone and data networks have been distinct separate technologies, each with their own equipment, software and requiring their own support personnel. Now, the introduction of open standards IP Telephony changes all this and promises something new.

IP Telephony solution is a new technology for voice applications based on a sort of integration between the standard data traffic and the voice traffic among only one infrastructure by converting the standard voice stream into IP packets. IP Telephony's most powerful thing, that it is based on IP Phones. IP Phones are network aware that allow for open standard XML applications, rather than the ability of Internet web access from the IP Phone!

From a financial point of view, IP Telephony solution reduces maintenance and support costs through the use of managed or hosted VoIP services, reduces the cost of moving employees and the reorganizing of offices as the control of telephone assignments became web-based and immediate. IP Telephony also reduces business continuity risks in the event of disruption at any business sites.

The operational efficiency of IP Telephony solution allows the IT staff to respond quickly to end-user needs with the ability to self-manage a company voice network from a single control point. Also, IP Telephony solution has a great influence on user productivity. Employee availability and responsiveness are increased by an improved ability to locate an employee regardless of location or device and with a greater flexibility in receiving messages. IP Telephony Solution centralized call processing improves remote worker productivity and capacity to collaborate by allowing same voice features as Main Office users. Introducing Wireless WiFi technology in an organization, allows the mobility of workers with the communication continuity not just for data access but also for voice communication by using laptop IP Soft phones and mobile wireless IP Phones.

The challenges of reliability and quality have been largely conquered and a majority of executives now predict that they will implement IP Telephony in their business. That's one conclusion of the second annual global survey conducted by the Economist Intelligence Unit for AT&T on networking and business strategy. At the most basic level, moving to IP Telephony means companies can carry calls within their own enterprise on their own networks. Cost savings, which are critical to initial deployments, are becoming straightforward to demonstrate and managed services are emerging as turnkey solutions for companies that want experts to help design and implement their migration and manage the ongoing network.
