Etisalat To Offer Enhanced Value To Business Customers Through The Microsoft Services Provider License Agreement (SPLA) Program

Published Nov 15, 2009
Etisalat announced an agreement with Microsoft Gulf to join its Microsoft Services Provider License Agreement (SPLA) program. The program will enable Etisalat to offer Microsoft based ICT solutions on turnkey project basis or as a standard service offering.

The agreement is inline with Microsoft’s software plus services strategy that will allow Etisalat to offer the convenience, security and reliability of both on-premise software and Web-based services, with the choice of hosting certain applications on premise, in the cloud or a combination of the two.

Etisalat will now be able to provide comprehensive solutions to customers which will also include attractive licensing prices in addition to facilitating an attractive monthly payment plan for Microsoft based ICT solutions. Etisalat will also have the flexibility to deliver tailored IT services to their customers through a dedicated or shared hosting environment thereby enabling faster time to market and increased business opportunities.

According to Abdulla Hashim, Sr. VP, Business Solutions, Etisalat, “The Microsoft Services Provider License Agreement (SPLA) will greatly benefit our customers by giving them the opportunity to reduce their up-front capital costs since they only pay for licenses based on what they use each month. This initiative will thus enable us to strengthen our customer relationships on a long term basis and also extends our strategic agreement with Microsoft.”

Commenting on the agreement with Etisalat, Ihab Foudeh, Enterprise and Partner Group Director, Microsoft Gulf said, “Microsoft’s software-plus-services platform provides the best choice for organizations like Etisalat to drive their business on and off the Web. With important tools that make transferring workloads easier, users and organizations get the best of both worlds: the convenience of a cloud-based model and the reliability, flexibility and compliance of on-premise software.“
