Software AG Enables Saudi Telecom Company To Deliver Enhanced Services To 20 Million Subscribers

Published Nov 16, 2009
Software AG, a global leader in business infrastructure software, has announced that it has recently signed a five-year agreement with Saudi Telecom Company (STC). This will enable the telecom provider to use Software AG's web Methods product suite in developing advanced applications, improving business processes and optimizing the strategic advantages of Saudi Telecom’s technology investments. Specifically, Software AG will provide maintenance and support services focusing on Saudi Telecom’s Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and billing systems. This will ultimately benefit more than 20 million subscribers through more efficient and enhanced value-added customer support facilities.

Saudi Telecom operates in an industry that demands highly complex, customer specific solutions quickly and has been partnering with Software AG since 2003 in developing an IT infrastructure that focuses on helping STC enhance its relationship with a growing customer base.

Marco Gerazounis, Senior Vice President, Software AG, Middle East, said: "Software AG has been providing technology support services to Saudi Telecom since 2003 and this new five-year agreement reaffirms our vital contributions in consolidating STC's position as a leading telecommunications provider. Saudi Telecom relies on us to link their CRM and billing systems, which is a critical requirement for a telecom operator.”

The new agreement with Saudi Telecom has been part of a continuing expansion program by Software AG in key markets across the Middle-East. The company has recently won contracts with prominent customers for Software AG technology solutions including SAP ePayroll B2B integration. Software AG also supports customers in modernizing their mainframe environments and legacy systems.

“We are delighted to be extending our partnership with Saudi Telecom and this sends a clear message about Software AG's strength and our firm commitment to this region”, said David Broadbent, Chief Operating Officer Region East and member of Software AG’s Executive Board. “Building on Software AG's positive revenue performance in Saudi Arabia throughout 2009 and the openness and innovation shown by companies such as Saudi Telecom, Software AG will open a new regional office xxx in 2010.”

The new regional office will enhance the delivery of products and services and improve technical support capabilities for Middle East clients.
