Cloud Computing To Grab Large Share Of Projected USD170.5 Million UAE Outsourced IT Services Market In 2010

Published Nov 17, 2009
Injazat Data Systems, the leading information technology and business process managed services provider in the UAE and the Middle East, sponsors the first-ever Cloud Computing / SaaS Summit taking place from November 17 to 18, 2009 at The Address Hotel, Dubai Marina, in Dubai.

Organised by IIR Middle East, the Summit will feature the latest case studies, trends and technology solutions on cloud computing and software-as-a-service (SaaS) and how these new information and communications technology (ICT) delivery methods can be adapted to regional businesses. Michael Collins, Injazat’s Head of Product Development and Solutioning, will deliver a presentation on the cloud computing concept, its potentials and challenges, business benefits, and proper adoption. Cloud computing is expected to acquire a large share of the outsourced IT services market especially in growth areas such as the UAE, where IT outsourcing is expected to grow into a USD170.5 million industry by 2010.

“Cloud computing represents the early stage of a big shift in the IT services sector. Although it is still immature, it offers enormous potential in terms of reduced costs, operational flexibility and enhanced productivity. Middle Eastern organizations planning to adopt cloud computing need to identify an effective strategy for combining traditional
and new technologies in order to maximize their investments into the concept. The region represents the world’s fastest-growing internet use area and is thus a perfect development hub for software-as-a-service and other cloud computing categories,” said Collins.

Over 200 participants are expected to attend the pioneering summit, among the regional and international companies who will discuss their experiences in cloud computing are State of Michigan, Bank of America, eBay / PayPal, Zamil Industrial, Omniyat Properties, Bayt.com, Meeza, eHosting DataFort, and Google.

Injazat Data Systems is a joint venture between Mubadala Development Co. and HP. Injazat holds more than 50 per cent of the UAE’s IT outsourcing market and is the owner of the first Tier IV design certified Data centre in the region.
