Canon Joins Forces With Kofax To Offer Enhanced Scanning Quality

Canon, world leader in digital imaging technology, has today announced that it will start bundling leading document imaging enhancement technology Kofax VirtualReScan (VRS) with nine of its leading professional Canon imageFORMULA scanners.
The move will enable organisations to increase employee productivity and overall business efficiency through the fast and accurate electronic capture of business documents. Kofax VRS reduces the time spent adjusting or re-scanning copies, by converting poor quality documents into clear images so that data is accurately scanned and recorded.
Vishal Gohel, Product Manager, Canon Middle East says, “Canon Middle East continually looks to provide its customers with innovative solutions that help individuals work more simply, productively and cost effectively. By combining Kofax VRS technology with Canon’s leading imageFORMULA scanners, we are able to deliver greater value to our customers at no additional cost. Joining forces with Kofax is a continuation of Canon’s overall strategy to offer our customers the highest level of imaging as standard, as we continue to develop our high-speed scanner portfolio.”
Kofax VRS is simple to use, automatically applying the appropriate settings dependent on the type of document that is scanned. With this function, customers benefit from high-quality image data for clear scans through the removal of any unwanted background marks or patterns.
“Organisations are seeking solutions to automate high-volume, document-centric tasks that enhance efficiency, increase productivity, drive down business costs and improve profitability,” said Jim Vickers, Senior Vice President of OEM & Partner Strategy at Kofax. “Our VRS driver technology enables all of these, and we are pleased to bring these advanced document processing tools to the market by working with Canon.”
Canon Middle East’s phased roll-out of selected Canon imageFORMULA document scanners* bundled with Kofax VRS Basic is already underway and due to be complete by the end of January 2010.
