Vodafone Starts Mobile ID Pilot With Valimo, Egypt Trust

Published Dec 10, 2009

Vodafone will provide the SIM cards, connectivity and secure messaging for the pilot.

The Mobile ID service is delivered in cooperation with IT security consultant Professional Services & Integrated Solutions (ProSIS), Valimo's business partner in the region. The Mobile ID service will initially be offered to select Egyptian service providers. The providers were chosen by analyzing customers' interests and prioritizing banking, governmental and brokering segments. Scheduled for launch in early 2010, the first service pilot will run for three months.

The installation of the mobile ID platform started in November this year. The Mobile ID service will initially enable users to access and confirm transactions in cardless ATMs and online stock trading services.
