Alfalak Signed Up As Official Distributor Of Banctec’s High-Speed Document Scanning And Processing Equipment In Saudi Arabia

ALFalak Electronic Equipment & Supplies Co, a leading provider of technology-based solutions to the Middle East, has signed a distribution agreement with BancTec Inc., a global provider of advanced, high-volume document and payment processing solutions and services. Under the terms of the agreement, ALFalak will officially distribute BancTec’s highly-acclaimed IntelliScan® and E-Series high-speed document scanning and sorting equipment in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The IntelliScan® line of integrated solutions offers high-speed, high-volume, multi-application document processing at scanning speeds of up to 550 pages per minute. It features image-capturing capabilities of up to 600 dpi optical resolution. The E-Series family of document transport systems, on the other hand, is highly suitable for payment processing centers that require reading and sorting speeds ranging from 600 to 1,700 documents per minute. BancTec expects ALFalak’s almost three decades of expertise in delivering information and communications solutions throughout the Middle East to strategically position their technologies across the region’s markets.

As the biggest economy in the Middle East, Saudi Arabia offers huge potential for proven productivity equipment such as those developed by BancTec. The World Bank forecasts a four per cent growth for the Middle East and North Africa region in 2010. Countries such as Saudi Arabia have been able to sustain economic productivity in spite of the global downturn partly due to aggressive economic diversification initiatives. The Saudi Government in particular has been enacting measures to expand into growth areas such as power generation, telecommunications, natural gas exploration, and petrochemicals. It plans to establish six “economic cities” in various regions of the country promote more development and diversification.
