New Xerox Documate® 742 Delivers High Quality Production Scanning At An Affordable Price

Xerox Corporation announced the Xerox DocuMate® 742, a high quality production sheetfed scanner that scans documents at 50 ppm (simplex) and 100 ipm (duplex) and includes a 100-page capacity Automatic Document Feeder (ADF). It has the ability to scan a wide range of mixed document sizes (up to A3 / 11” x 17”) and supports long document scanning up to 38” (965 mm) making it an effective way to index a large volume of mixed documents, such as medical forms or real estate contracts.

Ultrasonic Double Feed Detection is built into the DocuMate 742 so a page will never be skipped due to a misfeed or a stapled document going through the scanner. Small items such as plastic cards and large documents can easily be stacked in the ADF and instantly scanned to Searchable PDF or most document management software programs such as Xerox DocuShare, Microsoft SharePoint, and many more.

Powered by Visioneer OneTouch® technology, the scanner allows users to scan to the “destination” of their choice by pressing a single button, eliminating multiple steps usually required to save scanned documents in popular file formats. Visioneer OneTouch® allows you to scan documents to your choice of 9 preset yet completely user configurable destinations. In this way your documents to be scanned with the correct settings for resolution, color, cropping, file format and then delivered to virtually any application, folder or device – all at the touch of a button. Bundled software includes Nuance OmniPage Pro, Kofax VRS, EMC QuickScan Pro Demo, and Visioneer OneTouch technology, plus a TWAIN, certified ISIS and WIA driver.
The Xerox DocuMate 742 scanner has the ability to instantly scan a document into a searchable PDF file, and send it to one of the many ECM applications that Visioneer has developed links to such as Xerox DocuShare®, ScanFlow® Store, Docuware®, Microsoft SharePoint®, Kofax Ascent® Collection Server, EMC Captiva® QuickScan Pro®, FileBound®, Laserfiche® and/or to devices such as printers and networked storage systems in just one touch.
