Du Provides Integrated Telecom Services At Burj Dubai

The world’s tallest building – Burj Dubai – is now fully covered with du’s enhanced mobile network coverage, to provide all residents and visitors with seamless 2G and 3.75G network capabilities for an enhanced user experience. The move is in-line with du’s efforts to expand its mobile network across major landmarks in the UAE, and to cover 99% of residential areas by the end of 2009, in addition to offering fixed network services.
As a result, every Burj Dubai resident and visitor will benefit from du’s state-of-the-art ethernet to the home technology; this enables customers to enjoy a variety of services including du IPTV, broadband with 24 Mbps, voice telephony, Video on Demand, IP telephony, leased lines and Multi Protocol Label Switching (MPLS) among others.
du’s mobile and fibre optics networks are also available with the same level of quality in the surrounding buildings and hotels in the Downtown Burj Dubai area, including Souk Al Bahar, Boulevard Residence, The Address - Downtown Burj Dubai, The Palace – The Old Town hotel, Al Manzil hotel and The Dubai Mall.

With more than AED 230 million already invested this year for indoor network improvements and a similar investment scheduled for 2010, du continues to focus on improving its network in high-density areas, including government offices, shopping centres, business parks, hotels, residential towers and major landmarks.
du has used state-of-the-art technology from a number of leading companies such as Nokia Siemens, Cisco and Huawei for completing its in-building improvements, along with a number of partners and system integrators including Motorola, Alan Dick, LeBlanc and Andrew. du’s network improvements are a critical component of the company’s ongoing efforts to address customer needs and to strengthen and consolidate du’s position as an innovative and responsive telecommunications provider.
