Epson has announced the Middle East launch of the TM-T88IV ReStick, the latest addition to the TM-T88IV line of receipt printers. Designed to be the latest benchmark in the development of POS (Point of Sale) and kitchen receipt printers, the TM-T88IV ReStick produces print outs with a resolution of 203 dpi and works compatibly with any thermal paper or the new ReStick self adhesive paper—making it the ideal receipt printer for fast food restaurants, cafés, outdoor eating venues, pizza delivery services and fresh food stands. The launch of the new printer complements the growing consumer requirement of printing the actual contents and other important details onto purchased or ordered food items.
Created specifically for use with Epson’s ReStick self adhesive paper, the TM-T88IV ReStick ensures that the quality of its print outs will not be affected by the adhesive rubbing off onto it. The printing unit can process both regular thermal paper and ReStick paper in 58mm and 80mm widths. Its 203 dpi print resolution allows for detailed graphics like logos and symbols to be printed in sharp precision onto order slips or receipts. The TM-T88IV ReStick precisely cuts all receipt print outs on individual or specified length requirements and offers easy-to-use instructions—an important requirement for kitchen and cash area workstations, which operate under high time pressure settings. The new unit is also fully compatible with the TM-T88III and the TM-T88IV series printers, integrating compatibly with their existing POS systems.
Epson’s ReStick Endlesspaper products offer the advantage of being stuck onto any surface over and over again and does not leave any residue when being removed. The ReStick label is environmentally friendly and does not require the use of liner paper.
According to a recent QSR Industry Statistic Report, more and more customers are now asking for their orders to be prepared in specific ways. The survey reveals that in the US market, the success hit rate for special orders has already reached 85 to 90 per cent. Meals that were not prepared correctly or in the manner specified by the customer cannot be reused. This alone has already resulted to losses of around eight billion dollars every year.
To avoid similar losses in the Middle East food market, restaurant operations and kitchen staff should be aware of where their products are going and what they consist of. For example, an employee in charge of taking orders in the drive-through counter takes an order including specific requirements made by the customer. The order is later printed out onto the kitchen printer where the cook can see the specifics of the order. After preparation, the cook then sticks the order slip onto the product and sends it out for billing. Retailers can also utilize special adhesive order slips to make sure that the actual orders are delivered correctly with the proper contents to the correct location.
Khalil El-Dalu, General Manager, Epson Middle East, said, “The Middle East region has seen a change in consumer behaviour as far as eating out is concerned. This new consumer attitude of knowing the actual contents and other specifics of the food being ordered has created a demand for reliable and efficient food and kitchen receipt printers. With the launch of the TM-T88IV ReStick, which offers reliability, quality and the advantage of being able to print on Epson’s ReStick self adhesive paper, we aim to consolidate our presence in this domain while also reaffirming our steadfast commitment to provide users with innovative yet eco-friendly products.”
