Etihad Atheeb Telecom Co. "GO” Wins “Best New Entrant” Award For 2009 In The Middle East

Etihad Atheeb Telecom “GO” won the “Best New Entrant” award in the Telecom Sector for the year 2009 at a grand ceremony held in Dubai to announce the Telecoms World Middle East Awards 2009, the ceremony was attended by Dr. Ahmed Abbas Sindi, Chief Executive Officer of the company, with the presence of a number of senior officials of the Telecom sector in the Middle East and a number of media specialists. Telecoms World Middle East Awards is considered as one of the most significant telecommunications awards in the region.
Dr. Ahmed bin Abbas Sindi, CEO of Etihad Atheeb Telecom Co. "GO" said: “Winning the “Best New Entrant” award is an honor given its significance in the Telecoms sector and the strict evaluation criteria on which it relies. We owe this win to the directives of the esteemed Board of Directors, led by HRH Prince Abdulaziz bin Ahmed bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the chairman of the board, and the continuous efforts of the executive management and employees of the company for almost two years since the foundation of the company and less than 6 months into operation. “GO” deservedly earned this award which will act as an incentive to continue providing the best and latest of 4G technologies in Data and Voice services.”
Winning this award is a recode achievement for Etihad Atheeb Telecom Co "GO" in its first year, the company has demonstrated and presented its successes based on various factors which were assessed as part of the award nomination process. Factors included the journey of the company's development, it's speed to market, the strength of the brand and how it is perceived in addition to the number of subscribers in relation to the duration since start of business and other factors, all of which were answered and supported by documentations, enabling “GO” to win the “Best New Entrant” category despite strong competition with other international operators.
Dr. Sindi added: “Etihad Atheeb Telecom “GO” is the first 4G operator in Saudi Arabia, and holds a fixed line license from CITC, and we have taken upon ourselves the responsibility of bringing the latest telecommunications wire and wireless technologies to the Kingdom. GO launched the Broadband Internet Service “WiMAX” and gained the trust of more than 45,000 customers in a few months after the launch, followed by the launch of the 4G Voice service, which revolutionized the concept of fixed line services in the kingdom and allowed traditional fixed line users more choices.
We are determined to move forward with our plans to cover 4 areas in the Kingdom during the first year of operation and become the favored Internet and Voice provider by users relying on the best caliber of employees from this country as it is to be noted that Saudization in Etihad Atheeb Telecom has exceeded 60% to now”.
