Smartworld Enhances Business Operations With HP’s Software Solutions

Published Dec 29, 2009

Smartworld is one of the few companies in the region who specialize in deploying cutting-edge cloud computing technologies that offer customers secure, sustainable and scalable virtualization services. To further expand its growth in the Middle East, Smartworld wanted to build a next-generation network management center that could meet their customers’ needs and support their organization’s business processes. HP’s BTO software solutions comprising operations, network and service manager solutions were deployed across Smartworld’s two main datacenters.

The implementation aims to help Smartworld mitigate risks, and gain better cost saving results from their technology investments. The new solution will also help automate Smartworld’s IT services, processes and tasks - a key element to cutting costs and increasing staff efficiency. A team of six engineers carried out the implementation at Smartworld’s datacenter over a period of 6 months.

With the new infrastructure, Smartworld is set to leverage its expertise in the growing managed services market in the UAE that is currently estimated to be worth USD 252 million, according to market research firm IDC.

Commenting on the implementation, Mustafa Kaddoura, Chief Technology Officer, Smartworld said, “Smartworld’s success is based on our ability to deliver secure and reliable IT products and services to our customers, local communities and our partner ecosystem. The implementation has helped us work more effectively with our customers across IT, telecom, airports, governments, enterprises and the small and medium-markets. It allows us to support them in achieving operational efficiencies, drive business value and reduce total cost of ownership”

HP’s BTO solutions help organizations successfully manage the complete services lifecycle, comprising people, process, and technology. It makes sure that every dollar invested by an organization, every resource allocated and every application in development meets their business goals. BTO is an approach to IT management that reduces costs and produces business outcomes by helping IT managers.

Mahmoud Mounir, HP Software Director, Middle East said, “When companies allocate IT spend and resources based on business priorities, it is crucial that they have a system that measures its effectiveness and contribution to business growth. The BTO solutions deployed at Smartworld addresses business and service management needs through a suite of integrated products that are unique in the market place today. BTO solutions are relevant and applicable to the needs of the regional business, their success rate and ROI are immediate and measurable.”
