New IP Console Servers From Tripp Lite To Provide Universal IT Device Management Solution To The Region

Published Dec 30, 2009

Tripp Lite, a world leading manufacturer of power protection and connectivity equipment, has launched new Internet Protocol (IP) Console Servers, which offer regional companies universal IT device management solution for servers, workstations, routers, Private Branch Exchange (PBX) systems, Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems, Power Distribution Units (PDUs) and IP KVM switches. In addition, the new servers enable up to 50 users to simultaneously and securely access over 1,000 in-band or out-of-band devices from any location through a single IP address.

Available in three models with 16 or 48 RJ45 serial ports, the new IP Console Servers also offer integrated management tools with comprehensive logging and alerting, UPS and PDU monitoring, and control and embedded Linux with full shell access for customisation. Models B096-048 and B096-016 include a built-in router, firewall and DHCP server and dual Ethernet ports. Both also incorporate full management LAN support, which accommodates sensitive data that requires increased security and availability such as service processor traffic that controls the vital functions of mission-critical servers.

“Our new IP Console Servers are ideal for companies in the Middle East looking for secure management solutions for their IT devices without compromising accessibility, availability and convenient management,” said Vipin Sharma, Vice President, EEMEA and India Sales, Tripp Lite. “By providing this sophisticated in-band/out-of-band IT device management solution, we are aiming to address the needs of a wide range of regional users, including small businesses, enterprise data centres and networking managers. We also offer these new products with our industry-leading after sales service, which we expect to further drive the consumer demand for our latest, best-of-breed IP Console Servers,” said Vipin Sharma, Vice President, EEMEA and India Sales, Tripp Lite.

The third model is the B092-016, which features embedded PowerAlert Network Management System software capable of controlling up to 250 UPS systems and PDUs, thereby allowing users to monitor and control all their resources from the thin client. PowerAlert NMS automatically discovers each UPS system or PDU connected to the network, as well as devices connected to the IP Console Server’s serial ports. All the functions available for each device through the local PowerAlert console are available through PowerAlert NMS, including connected equipment reboots, individual outlet control, load monitoring, custom start up/shutdown sequences and more.

“Over and above the superior technical specifications of our latest IP Console Servers, we have also designed and developed several accessories to further enhance the servers’ performance and optimise their benefits. We are offering three modular serial adapters that allow the IP console servers to access devices with DB9 serial ports. The advanced features and accessories we offer are a testament to our commitment to innovation and our leadership in the IT connectivity market,” concluded Sharma.
