Egypt Extends New Telecom Licences

Egypt's National Telecommunication Regulatory Authority has extended to 15 years the length of telecom licences it is tendering for use in gated communities, and raised the number of units that can be connected. 'The most important decisions are the increase in the number of units in the gated community from 5,000 to 10,000 units and the extension of the term of the contract from 10 years to 15 years,' the regulator said.
