Mani And Co. Brings Latest European Technology To Jebel Ali Factory

Published Jan 3, 2010

In a move to bring added consistency to its UAE production line, Mani and Co., one of the Middle East's fastest growing producers of naturally nutritious fruit and nut snacks, recently installed a new scanning and sorting system in its Dubai headquarters located in Jebel Ali.

The technology is not used by any other UAE companies in the dried fruits and nuts industry, although the x-ray and laser technology is employed throughout Europe to assure uniform consistency of raw materials before processing and packaging.

In fact, consumer confidence is the single most valuable entity in the world of food manufacturing, and companies today aren't leaving anything to chance.

One of the top-rated systems of its kind, it meticulously scans products based on the parameters of shape, density, texture and colour, identifying features using x-ray and laser technology far beyond what the human eye can detect. The resulting profile enables producers to easily remove all materials deemed unsatisfactory according to predetermined standards.

Such standards are increasingly high in the UAE, while in some European markets the bar rests even higher. "Our company believes in the employment of the most advanced technology available, especially as we move into new overseas markets," says Mr. Abouzar Rahmani, Managing Director of Mani & Co. "That process isn't as straightforward as it may sound.

Every effort is made to ensure that the technology does not have an adverse effect on the product itself, and in our industry that involves an exceptional amount of trial and research," comments Rahmani.

With over 120 years experience in the region, Mani & Co. is one of the most respected producers of fruit and nut snacks in the Middle East. Having recently opened up a new factory in Jebel Ali, the installation of the refinement system is part of the company's plan to become a certified ISO 20000 'World Class Manufacturer' as soon as operations allow for international examination
