SANYO To Consolidate Leadership In Middle East Surveillance Camera Segment With Roll Out Of Broad Range Of CCTV Systems

Published Jan 11, 2010

SANYO Electric Co., a world leading digital CCTV camera manufacturer, has recently announced that it had roll out its latest range of CCTV cameras in the Middle East market; allowing different target industries and consumers more access to SANYO’s diversified line of high quality video and camera surveillance products. The move complements a recent IMS report forecasting the Middle East surveillance market’s strong growth through 2010 and is part of SANYO’s strategy to consolidate its leadership in the region’s surveillance systems segment by targeting commercial establishments, government agencies, academic institutions and home owners.

The announcement was made during a CCTV product seminar held recently in Dubai and attended by more than 100 delegates. The seminar, which was organised by SANYO’s Security Division, highlighted the company’s four lines of surveillance cameras—the new High Definition (HD) cameras; the Wide Dynamic Range camera series; the Vandal-resistant Infrared (IR) cameras and the Colour Mini Dome cameras.

Farzan Farooque, Product Manager - CCTV, SANYO Gulf, said, “The Middle East region is currently witnessing an increased demand for cutting edge surveillance equipment. Companies, schools and even home owners are increasingly installing cameras for security purposes and to monitor ingress and egress movement within their facilities. Also, countries such as the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Saudi Arabia and Jordan have seen increased government installations like street surveillance cameras to enhance safety and security. To keep up with this demand, SANYO is bringing in its broad range of surveillance cameras to the region to allow potential customers access to surveillance equipment that can best suit their needs and fit their budget requirements.”

SANYO’s Full HD series is the world’s first full high definition camera range that offers full HD at a full frame rate. This new line incorporates the newly developed Xacti HD-Pro and Optimum IP-Pro engines that ensure clear and crisp full HD images, and has a sleek compact design that is approximately 40 per cent smaller than its predecessors. The Full HD series is available in four model types; CS Mount (VCC-HD2100P, VCC-HD2300P, and VCC-HD2500P), Zoom (VCC-HD4600P), Dome (VDC-HD3100P, VDC-HD3300P and VDC-HD3500P) and PTZ (VCC-HD5400P and VCC-HD5600P). The series offers two ways to achieve improved surveillance images—preserving pixel density by using a wider viewing range or reduce pixel density for shorter viewing ranges. Utilizing a 1280X960 pixel screen, captured images provide users a clearer view of important details like faces, plate numbers and the like. Images can be recorded onto an SD or HDD and can be cropped without losing the quality of the image.

SANYO’s Wide Dynamic Range camera series introduces the use of a new system called the Retina Morphic processing algorithm, which allows the camera to capture a wider range image similar to the human eyes’ wide scope of vision. The Wide Dynamic Range series offers superior resolution of 550 TV lines and has a digital noise reduction function that provides smearless, true day and night images. The series is available in three model types; the Falcon Dome (VDC-WD9884VA NTSC and the VDC-WD9885VP PAL), the Indoor Mini-Dome (VCC-W9874VA NTSC and the VCC-W9875VP PAL), and the Advanced WDR Dome model.

The Vandal-Resistant IR Dome Camera pioneers the use of an IR-LED system that allows clear capture of images even in dark conditions. Whereas other surveillance cameras are packaged separately with infrared devices and LEDs, the IR Dome Camera series comes with a built-in IR reader and LED device. The VDC-D1785IRVP (NTSC) and the VDC-D1784IRVA (PAL) offer superior high resolution of 540 TV lines and captures images via a triple video output system (BNC, UTP and ADJ). The units are designed with a vandal resistant dome shape that cannot be easily tampered with.

The Colour Mini-Dome camera offers sophisticated camera performance infused with a sleek design and easy to install interface. Available in mini-dome size, the camera uses Fujinon vari-focal lens that allow superior resolution of up to 540 TV lines. Other features include backlight compensation, white balance, gamma correction and a three-axis mechanism. The Colour Mini-Dome Camera series is available in two models; the VCC-9785VP (PAL) and the VCC-9784VA (NTSC).

“SANYO aims to reinforce its leadership in the Middle East’s rapidly growing CCTV market by highlighting our wide line of surveillance products. Moreover, these new surveillance products help promote our unique ‘Think GAIA’ philosophy of creating solutions for a sustainable earth through the synergy of our core technologies. SANYO remains steadfast in its commitment to provide our customers with products that can help bolster productivity and ensure total peace of mind,” concluded Farzan.
