Chemanol Finds Perfect Formula With New Upgrade

Published Jan 11, 2010

Saudi Arabia's Chemanol upgrades its SAP infrastructure to the latest version to improve customer visibility and enable future growth.

Saudi Arabian chemical manufacturer Chemanol has completed an upgrade of its SAP-based core IT systems from Netweaver version 5.0 to 6.0. The company claims that features inherent to the new system will provide improved transparency for both existing and future customers.

According to Khalid Al Rabiah, CEO of Chemanol, customers can log onto the portal system using a unique identifier system and then check orders, chemical quantities, dispatches, and read detailed online reports. He also states that the completed upgrade will pave the way for future expansion of Chemanol systems.

"The main advantage from a business aspect is that SAP allows for scalability and transparency. We plan to expand during the next five years, and having the latest solutions in place will allow us to do that in a streamlined and trouble-free way," he explained.

The project went live in July and also mandated a move to a number of existing SAP modules, including finance, materials management, plant maintenance and HR. As he states, the firm completed the changes without disturbing existing systems.
