RIM Launches Wireless Blackberry Presenter

Published Jan 12, 2010

BlackBerry Presenter works with Bluetooth so users can deliver presentations directly from their smartphone.

Research in Motion has introduced a new accessory that can easily plug into a projector or monitor so Microsoft PowerPoint presentations can be delivered directly from BlackBerry smartphones.

The BlackBerry Presenter, which weighs just 140 grams, supports NTSC and PAL video formats and works through Bluetooth (10 metre connectivity range).

It works with most BlackBerry models except the Curve 8300 series and the Pearl Flip.

"Mobile professionals are always looking to carry less when travelling," said Glenn Laxdal, VP of Product Management, Research In Motion.

"BlackBerry Presenter equips mobile professionals with a simple, secure and convenient way to deliver presentations directly from their BlackBerry smartphone, giving them the freedom to leave their laptops behind."

No launch date for the Presenter has been revealed yet, with the product only recently being demonstrated at the CES 2010 event.

RIM has stated however that the device will be sold for $199.99 on ShopBlackBerry.com, which doesn't cater to customers in the Middle East region, and through "select authorized dealers and retail stores".
