Panasonic Introduces New Viera LCD Customised Exclusively For The Middle East Market

Published Jan 12, 2010

Panasonic, the global industry leader in Plasma and LCD televisions, has introduced a high definition LCD television that has been customized exclusively for the Middle East market.

The A-series Viera LCD features specially designed full-range speaker units which point downward from the bottom of the display unit to produce robust bass and an expansive acoustic field, making it ideal for mid sized apartments across the gulf region.

The units also come with a wide viewing angle IPS Alpha panel which has a 20,000:1 aspect ratio with intelligent scene controller. In addition, the Blue LEDs illuminate the vicinity of the display's side speakers to symbolise the acoustic power of the new series.

The A-series also has a long panel life Up to 60,000 hours. Along with their exceptionally high picture quality, this year's fully enhanced Viera models have evolved in terms of networking, adding functions that give viewers exciting new ways to enjoy TV.

The Viera Image Viewer allows easy playback of still images, Viera Link adds operating ease, and a host of networking functions expand the possibilities of the versatile displays.

"The Viera A-Series LCD had been customized exclusively for the Middle East market," said Abby Thomas, Senior Manager, Consumer Electronics Department, Panasonic Marketing Middle East.

"We have designed the A-series to match the changing lifestyle of our customers, who are looking for a one-stop solution to smart networking in their homes, and our product does exactly that. Viera which is more than just a TV, allows customers to personalize the channel they are viewing and enjoy their favorite moments with friends,"added Thomas.

New IPS Alpha Panels, also known as Next Generation LCD Panels provide stunning images from a very wide angle. Using Panasonic's In-Plane-Switching technology, viewers can now enjoy richer, vivid and more natural looking images in their Viera LCD's. These new panels have 1.5 times more transmissivity than conventional panels.

Further developments have been made to the popular Viera Link facility, where you can use the VIERA remote control to operate devices connected to a Viera TV via an HDMI cable.

"Panasonic truly understands the needs of its customers and the new customized A-Series LCD is sure to meet the demands of the region's increasingly tech-savvy and fashionable consumer," added Thomas.
