13.7 Per Cent Growth In MENA IT Spending Triggers Need For More Efficient IT Solutions

Published Jan 21, 2010

Canon to present high-scale imaging solutions for cost control, security and productivity during IDC CIO Summit 2010.

Canon, the leader in imaging solutions, has announced its commitment to support the "IDC CIO Summit 2010" in line with Canon's efforts to help cultivate the growth of the MENA region's IT sector, which has been projected by IDC to achieve a healthy 13.7 per cent increase in spending in 2010.

With the region's steady IT growth triggering a corresponding increase in demand for efficient IT management solutions, Canon further revealed that it will conduct an exclusive presentation featuring high-scale solutions for cost control, security and productivity at the IDC CIO Summit, which will be held from January 24 to 25 at the Mina A'Salam hotel in Dubai.

Canon will showcase before a gathering of CIOs, IT leaders and IT professionals from diverse businesses across the region its premium range of multifunctional devices, including Canon's new flagship MFP series "imageRUNNER ADVANCE," a scalable platform that has been equipped with customisable features to match the specific requirements of users.

David Preston, Canon's B2B Sales and Marketing Director for Emerging Markets, will serve as keynote speaker during the presentation, which will focus on three key aspects that have defined the superior value proposition of Canon's diverse product range: cost control, security and productivity.

Canon will also facilitate the printing of conference-related materials such as the attendee book and the Summit Book using the Canon imagePRESS C7000VP.

"Canon empowers CIOs of organisations to realise their goals and generate superior value for their technology investments by delivering products and value-added offerings that are developed based primarily on the three main principles of better control on printing and document management costs; premium security for company information; and enhanced productivity in printing and document management.

We believe that these attributes are crucially important in light of the tough economic conditions.

Moreover, we are fully committed to continue to provide innovative solutions that match the needs and evolving requirements of our target markets," said David Preston, B2B Sales and Marketing Director for Emerging Markets, Canon.

"The IDC CIO Summit provides a highly conducive platform for Canon to demonstrate the strength of its hardware and software imaging solutions.

The Summit will feature an exclusive guest list consisting of the most prominent IT leaders and CIOs from all over the region, thus we have accordingly prepared an exciting, highly informative and engaging presentation that will help reinforce Canon's reputation as the preferred choice among leading business organisations in the Middle East," Preston added.

Preston is responsible for Canon's B2B offerings in the fields of digital imaging and printing.

He has over 20 years of experience in the industry, particularly in desktop print, document archiving, large format printing and high specification print presses.

Canon's imageRUNNER ADVANCE incorporates hardware and software technology that enables clients to customise the printing solution according to their specific requirements.

Canon adds extra hardware and software elements, and provides consultancy support, allowing clients to enhance various elements of the value proposition in terms of what is important to them.

In line with its strong focus on corporate social responsibility (CSR) and its firm commitment to becoming a 'Top 100 Global Company', Canon has developed the imageRUNNER ADVANCE range in accordance with stringent environment standards, particularly in terms of eliminating hazardous substances, and conservation of resource and energy.

The imageRUNNER ADVANCE range delivers a wide array of benefits and advantages that include reduced power consumption through energy-saving fusing technology and sleep mode; reduced paper consumption with duplex printing; decreased carbon emissions; and lower noise levels to support a better working environment, among others.

IDC CIO Summit provides an exclusive venue that showcases first-hand visions and experiences of recognised industry leaders.

The event likewise provides unrivalled networking opportunities and enables participants to keep up to date on the latest key business and technology challenges and innovations.
