Kulacom Launches Largest State Of The Art Datacenter In Jordan

Published Jan 27, 2010

Kulacom Jordan, a world-leading competitive integrated communications carrier, has officially launched its 300 square meter state-of-the-art Datacenter equipped with the latest server and virtualization technology from Dell International, establishing Kulacom’s Datacenter as the most advanced in Jordan as well as being one of the largest in the region.

Kulacom Jordan’s fully managed state-of-the-art Datacenter has been designed to host the most basic to the most mission critical computer systems, enabling it to host customer solutions consisting of one processor and one gigabyte of storage or a solution that requires hundreds of servers with terabytes of storage per server.

According to Hazim Alaeddin, Kulacom Jordan’s CEO, the benefits of companies outsourcing their IT operations to a data center are numerous with the main focus being on the reduced capital costs that companies will witness, in addition to reducing staff overheads and reducing operational expenses.

Alaeddin stated, “A data center is an expensive proposition in terms of money, time and deployment of human resources. To that effect, we want to help save businesses the high cost of running their IT infrastructure by encouraging them to outsource their needs to us, sparing them the complex and costly responsibility of purchasing and managing their own servers. Therefore, being able to focus on their core competencies”

Kulacom’s Datacenter boasts a state of the art infrastructure and a fully controlled environment that will minimize security breaches and guarantees that there will be no disruption to services ensuring customer business continuity.

Kulacom’s infrastructure includes physical 24/7 multi-layered security, advanced fire protection systems, redundant power feeds, backup generators, biometric readers, closed circuit surveillance, carrier neutral bandwidth and redundant connectivity, with 24/7 support and centralized network monitoring via the network operation centre (NOC).

Kulacom Datacenter runs entirely on the latest Dell hardware and virtualization technology, enabling Kulacom to maximise the number of customers per square meter, using the highest processing power possible to deliver a comprehensive range of services including virtualization, dedicated server hosting, storage, back-up and disaster recovery.

Alaeddin stated, “With our virtualized solution from Dell, we can host 15,000 customer solutions in a 300 square meter data centre, 15 times more customers than would be possible with physical servers alone.

We can also respond to customer needs almost instantly, deploying virtual machines for new customers in a matter of minutes, which is comparable to anything available anywhere else in the world.”

Alaeddin concluded by saying, “Our aim is to build long-term customer relationships by offering solutions that grow as they do. To do this, we must show that we can match the reliability, quality and price offered by our international competitors – with the infrastructure we have built and the technology we are using I can confidently say that we do.”
