Nawras is delighted to continue its pleasingly different support for Omani youth by being the first and only sponsor of the Sultanate’s participation in the Ship for World Youth. This international event has a 22-year history and this is the first time a company has stepped up to sponsor Oman’s participation.

The Ship for World Youth project is organized by the Japanese Government with participation from 13 countries: Japan, Sultanate of Oman, Australia, Bahrain, Ecuador, Egypt, India, Sri Lanka, Turkey, UAE, Yemen, Greece and Kenya.

Representatives from the Ministry of Sports Affairs and Nawras held a joint press conference recently to announce their partnership in this national and international project, which is aiming to deepen the friendship and understanding between world youth.

Through a mixture of different nationalities and cultures working together as a team, the journey is giving the young people new skills and abilities.

The Sultanate is participating for the seventh time, presenting the historical maritime and trading heritage that the country enjoys.

The programme is jammed full of activities and the Omani participants have already spent several days living with Japanese families before boarding the ship which is docking in many different destinations before returning to Japan.

Hisham Juma Al-Sinani, director for international cooperation department at the Ministry of Sport Affairs, said, "Through this participation we are seeking to present Omani customs and traditions as well as the characteristics of our Omani society.

It is improving the Omani participants' knowledge and skills to enable them to effectively communicate with international cultures."
