Samacom is the leading regional operator of satellite support services and currently serves more than 170 television stations throughout the Middle East and Asia.

The teleport facility comprises satellite antennae that produce a wide global coverage out of Dubai, providing broadcasting services clients an extensive household viewership footprint.

The network reaches a wide range of international locations to suit the diverse communication needs of the UAE’s multi-cultural residents, and can meet the high-volume traffic requirements of the world’s traditional business centres as well as emerging economies. This high-quality global connectivity service ensures the du Samacom network achieves maximum availability.

Ahmed Almuhaideb, Senior Director Samacom and Terrestrial, du, said: “We are honoured to have been recognised for our achievements as a top broadcasting service provider in such a respected global forum.

We are dedicated to developing and improving our network coverage by bringing in new and innovative technologies, which will enable us to provide the best possible satellite facilities that meet the needs of all our clients.”

du currently has a number of prestigious broadcasting giants from across the Middle East and Asia among its growing list of clients, including Abu Dhabi TV, Dubai TV, Sharjah TV, MBC; Al Arabiya News Channel; Al Majd; Korea’s Global TV, Arirang; CNBC Arabiya; MTV Arabia; NDTV; Nickleodeon TV Arabia; PMC; Prime Sports; Reuters; Showtime and Zee TV.

“We have achieved a number of major milestones recently with our broadcast services, and hard work will ensure that we continue to enjoy such successes in the near future.

du Samacom is committed to best serving clients and addressing their needs and we look forward to even more global recognition for our efforts in the years ahead,” added Ahmed.

The World Teleport Association serves the $13 billion teleport sector of the global satellite communications industry, which produces over 15 per cent of world satellite communications revenue.

While monopoly national carriers continue to operate in many regions, the competitive commercial players in this sector include independent "uplinkers," global hybrid carriers, and specialized service providers for whom satellites are a means to an end of providing a high-value service to their customers.
