Etihad Atheeb Telecom Co. "GO" Signs Exclusive Telecommuniations Sponsorship For The Jeddah Economic Forum 2010

Dr. Ahmed Abbas Sindi, CEO of Etihad Atheeb Telecom Co. "GO" signed the Jeddah Economic Forum 2010 sponsorship agreement with Mr.Mazen Batterjee, Vice-President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Jeddah, and Mr. Abdulaziz Sager, Chairman of the Gulf Research Center, making Etihad Atheeb Telecom "GO" the exclusive Telecommunications sponsor of the 10th edition of Jeddah Economic Forum 2010, which will be held under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Khalid Al Faisal during the period from 13 – 16 February 2010 under the theme of “The Global Economy 2020” .

The Agreement was signed during a press conference held in the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, with the presence of a number of senior officials from both sides.

As Etihad Atheeb Telecom Co. “GO” is a major contributor to shaping the future of Telecoms in the kingdom and facilitating the transition towards a knowledge-based society and knowledge-based economy, “GO” will provide the latest 4G telecommunications technologies at the forum, including 4G Voice and Broadband Internet services.”

He Added: “The Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s decision to select “GO” as the exclusive telecommunications sponsor although the company had not exceeded its first year of operations is a new accomplishment to be added to the company’s previous achievements."

Jeddah Economic Forum 2010 will host an elite group of decision makers, economic experts, businessmen, businesswomen and academics from over 20 countries, to discuss and explore the prospects for the global economy and identify emerging economic trends over the coming years. “GO” will also be showcasing its innovative solutions, products, services and 4G technologies at the Jeddah Economic Forum exhibition.

Facts and Figures:

• Etihad Atheeb Telecom “GO” is a Saudi Joint Stock Company with a capital of 1 billion Saudi Riyals ($266, 66600) that holds a fixed-line license from the Saudi CITC and specializes in the fields of high-speed WiMAX Internet and phone services.

• Listed in the Saudi stock exchange “Tadawul” under the name “Atheeb Telecom” and code 7040.

• “GO” is the company commercial name.

• Acting as the Chairman of the Board of Directors is His Royal Highness, Prince Abdul Aziz bin Ahmed bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud, and as the company CEO Dr. Ahmed Abbas Sindi.

• “GO” is the first 4G Operator and competing fixed phone service provider in the kingdom.

• GO paid 520 million riyals for the acquisition of a 3.5GHz wave spectrum.

• GO paid 5 million riyals for a fixed service license.

• The GO WiMAX network is currently covering Riyadh, Jeddah, Mecca, Medina, Yanbu Khamis Mushayt, Abha, Damam, Hafouf and Kateef.

• GO aims to cover 4 areas during the first year of commercial operation (which accedes the licensing requirements by the ITCT).

• GO provides wireless Internet service (WiMAX) at speeds of 512 Mb / s and 1 Mb / s and 2 Mb / s.

• GO introduced a new product, Igo , the personal 4G broadband internet for the first time in the kingdom.

• GO provides 4G voice services, the phone numbers begin with (08 111 ).
