Revolutionising nationwide fixed landline services in the UAE, du announced the launch of Homephone Recharge service, offering calls as low as 1 fils per second from any home landline. This innovative prepaid service offers an attractive ‘One World One Rate’ tariff, which provides competitive international call rates from fixed landlines.

du’s specially-designed Homephone Recharge cards work on any home landline in the UAE, regardless of the provider, and is available in denominations of AED 20, 50, 100, 200 and 500. The recharge cards can be purchased from any du shop, kiosk or du authorised dealer.

Fixed landline customers across the UAE can call 190 destinations at competitive, easy-to-remember rates. Customers will pay as low as 1 fils per second during the night daily, including Friday from 9pm to 9am, 3 fils per second during the day from 9am to 9pm and 1.5 fils per second on Friday from 9am to 9pm.

To activate du’s ground-breaking Homephone Recharge prepaid service, subscribers simply need to call 800135 from any home landline. Upon activation, subscribers will immediately get AED 5 instant free credit, enabling them to start calling straightaway. To make calls, subscribers need to dial the prefix 08888 before the number they wish to call, du customers simply need to dial “*” (Star) – in place of 08888 - before the number they wish to call.

“We are delighted to offer UAE landline customers exceptional value and flexibility with our new Homephone Recharge service,” said Farid Faraidooni, Chief Commercial Officer, du. “Now anyone with a landline in the UAE can benefit from our incredible calling rates, and enjoy the simplicity of one rate for 190 destinations and the value offered by Pay by the Second® billing.

Best of all, customers can take advantage of our Homephone Recharge services with no change to their home telephone number, no monthly fees and no service interruption, while getting the option to choose between prepaid or postpaid Homephone service.”

Complementing the launch is a nationwide Homephone Recharge roadshow at prominent locations in the UAE during February and May, which will serve to educate customers on the new service.

Customers wishing to take advantage of the seamless convenience of a postpaid monthly plan can sign up for Homephone postpaid service at any du shop or authorised dealer. In this case, they will receive a ‘08888-dialler’ device for free. This small device, which is attached to your landline telephone, will connect to the service automatically, without the need to dial the 08888 prefix manually.
