MOU Between MCIT And Ministry Of State For Environmental Affairs

Under the auspices of Dr. Tarek Kamel, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Cairo International Convention and Exhibition Centre (CICC), witnesses in the period from 7-10 February 2010 the fourteenth round of Cairo ICT 2010.
The leading International Telecommunication, Information Technology, Networking, Computing, Satellite & Broadcasting Trade Fair & Forum for the Middle East and Africa – promises an outstanding event.
While experts are still debating the overpowering effect of the economic tsunami which started in 2009, the event will offer a platform for debate on this topic and seeking to provide the visitors with a broad spectrum of marketing tools to assist in surpassing the crisis.
The event this year is looking forward to providing the exhibitors and guests with a large variety of the latest gadgets in the world of Technology. In addition to the official forum, providing a respectable and renowned platform for the heated debates in the field of ICT, with respect to various sectors in the economy.
In the first day of Cairo ICT, a Memorandum of Understanding is due to be signed by H.E. Dr. Tarek Kamel, as a representative of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and H.E. Dr Maged Goerge, as a representative of the Ministry of State for Environmental Affairs, in a step to lay out foundations for Green ICT.
This MoU aims to start bilateral projects to limit the adverse effects of ICT devices to the environment, by using correct scientific and environmental methods for electronic waste disposal, and using ICT as a tool to limit harmful emissions from other sectors.
