ITWorx Releases New Citizen-Centric Service Offering For Governments

Published Feb 16, 2010

ITWorx, a leading software professional services organization in the Middle East, has launched a new service offering for governments – ITWorx Citizen1st. Based on Microsoft Citizen Service Platform (CSP), Citizen1st is a multilingual, scalable, and robust platform that accelerates the e-transformation of local, national, and regional governments in the EMEA region, creating far less costly, automated, optimised, mobile, and secure operations and processes. Putting people at the heart of the e-transformation, it helps create efficient government internal portals that increase the productivity of civil servants and citizen portals that empower citizens with world-class e-services and superior customer service.

A citizen-centric strategy in conjunction with e-governance transforms citizen service by providing access to information and services thereby empowering citizens, enabling their public participation, and enhancing citizen economic and social opportunities. To that effect, a single face of government that unifies services and maintains a seamless transfer between different government bodies, vertically and horizontally, is crucial.

With Citizen1st, the e-government portal allows citizens and businesses to access any available service, whether to pay a parking fine, renew a license, or apply for a building permit. The citizen submits the request by filling in an online form. Behind the scenes, the request is fulfilled via streamlined business processes using Web-enabled tools which access, update, and transfer data to and from disparate legacy systems and databases of the department(s) responsible. Prompt service delivery and the capability to monitor and track progress at any time results in dramatically increased citizen interactions with government entities, together with heightened levels of satisfaction.

Citizen1st’s automated processes, collaborative internal portals, and interoperable systems facilitate civil servant mobility and increase quality and speed of communications that boost productivity and encourage cross-agency collaboration as well as cross-sector partnerships among government stakeholders, creating essential efficiencies. Built on Microsoft operating systems and applications, the Citizen1st platform is intuitive, familiar, and interoperable; boosting user experience, accelerating implementation time, minimising training and reducing costs. The platform is also available in Arabic.
“ITWorx expertise in government projects is extensive with successful deliveries of ready-made and custom-developed solutions worldwide. Combining our knowledge of government-specific business needs along with proficiency and mastery of Microsoft technologies, we developed Citizen1st to address the possible challenges of public agencies effectively,” said Ahmed Badr, ITWorx VP for Services.

Citizen1st has been meticulously designed to offer a range of feature-rich, ready-made and customisable solution areas with secured access and user authorisation levels that adapt to the unique needs of governments of different sizes. It helps to connect, streamline, and monitor governmental operations and processes to comply with increasing regulatory mandates, achieve transparency, and evaluate performance government-wide.

“A citizen-centric strategy establishes a knowledge-based relationship between government officials and citizens, allowing them to interact more transparently while building trust and engagement,” commented Wael Amin, ITWorx President.

To realise a full and healthy adoption, ITWorx partners with governments in long-term relationships. ITWorx professionals offer world-class guidelines and best practices in effective platform usage and adoption, conduct multi-layered staff training, and provide round the clock multi-tiered support services to ensure optimal stability and performance.
