Redington Value, the value-added distribution division of Redington Gulf, a leading IT distributor in the Middle East and Africa, has recently staged two highly successful partner conferences in Riyadh and Jeddah as part of its plans to leverage the booming ICT spending in KSA, which is projected to hit USD 32 billion by 2012. Dubbed as ‘The Power To Do More’, the conference series attended by over 250 sales and technical professionals from the channel was divided into two parallel tracks - business and technical - and revolved around four vendors’ product portfolios being distributed by Redington Value, including Hewlett Packard’s ProCurve Networking, Trend Micro, Avaya and Molex.
“Given the extensive ICT developments in Saudi, our goal is to maximise the opportunities available in this market through more intensive awareness drives for the brands we carry. In addition to road shows such as the ones we have recently staged, we have strengthened our presence in KSA by adding more sales and technical talent on ground,” said Ramkumar B, General Manager, Value Business, Redington Gulf.
According to a published report, KSA’s ICT spending is poised for a three-year 8 per cent CAGR by 2010. Amidst the positive outlook on the market, Redington Value’s seminars explained the value proposition, products and the programs that can help sales and account management professionals who are working within Value Added Resellers, position offerings from HP ProCurve, TrendMicro, Avaya and Molex better to customers. A parallel track at the conference also focused on enabling the pre-sales/technical personnel in reseller organisations present the best solution to optimise IT investments for their customers and open up opportunities to develop new business.
“HP ProCurve is accelerating its efforts to grow in the networking space,” said Ramesh Budharup, Distribution Manager, HP Procurve Middle East, North and West Africa. “Working with key distributors such as Redington, these events help us communicate our value proposition of quality, reliability and adherence to open standards all backed by our innovative lifetime warranty, and the strength of the HP brand. The recent launch of our ‘Network Liberation Movement’ is aimed at helping our channel partners offer freedom of choice to network and IT managers, liberating them from expensive, proprietary networking solutions.”
“These informative workshops are important for our partners to get the latest information from Trend Micro, to help them better support their customers. Working with a professional organization such as Redington makes the process easier for ourselves and the partners and we are very pleased to have support them,” concluded Arshad Sheikh, Territory Manager, Trend Micro.
