Regional Smbs’ Spending On Wireless Networking Solutions To Rise By 120 Percent In 2010, Says NETGEAR

Published Feb 24, 2010

Regional SMBs’ spending on wireless networking solutions is poised to rise by 120 per cent in 2010, as an offshoot of the overall increase in the IT spending of small and medium businesses brought on by the recovery from recession, according to NETGEAR, a worldwide provider of technologically advanced, branded networking and storage products. Focused on simplifying the set up and management of wireless networks, the company has launched its latest ‘ProSafe 16-AP Wireless Management System - WMS5316’, a reliable, secure and simple central wireless device that support up to 16 access points, in the region.

The region mirrors the IT expenditure of the global SMB market, which is forecasted to hit USD 509 billion this year with sectors such as services, software and PC peripherals poised to benefit the most. Eyeing the prospects in the regional SMB segment, NETGEAR has designed its new ‘ProSafe 16-AP Wireless Management System - WMS5316’ to provide businesses with a single location to configure and manage an entire wireless network. Supporting a wide portfolio of standard NETGEAR access points, the new system enables customers to select the right access points for their needs, even mixing models to provide the right coverage, as well as an upgrade path as technology changes.

“The patterns in IT spending vary across continents and different technologies; and small and medium businesses have the collective resources to significantly drive the demand for many IT innovations, including wireless networking solutions,” said Ahmad Zeidan, Channel Sales Manager, NETGEAR Middle East. “As the SMB sector in the region continues to lead the pack in terms of adoption of technologies to fuel long-term success, we are committed towards developing new products that will help them achieve efficiency and productivity in their operations.”

Backed with lifetime warranty, ‘ProSafe 16-AP Wireless Management System - WMS5316’ also delivers centralised management, load balancing, Radio Frequency (RF) management and guest access via an intuitive interface, making it ideal for growing companies who cannot afford to deal with the complexity and cost of full wireless controllers. Furthermore, the new system’s security features enable identical security settings throughout the coverage area so that clients, guests and unwanted intruders all get appropriate access or denial to network resources.

“Wireless networking is critical for SMB businesses in the Middle East, and customers need a lot more than standalone access points vendors can provide in terms of management as solutions designed for a larger environment will not be cost-effective for SMBs to implement. At this affordable price point, a centrally managed solution will very quickly pay for itself due to the immediate labour savings in routine maintenance and management of access points. We are confident that we have bridged the gap between the ‘all or nothing' choice with the ‘ProSafe 16-AP Wireless Management System - WMS5316’,” concluded Zeidan.
