Young UAE Nationals Build Business & Career Skills

Published Feb 28, 2010

The Vocational Education and Training Institute of Abu Dhabi (VETI) recently completed a training programme in coordination with Injazat Data Systems, the leading information technology and business process managed services provider in the UAE and the Middle East, to develop the vocational and entrepreneurial skills of young UAE Nationals.

VETI Abu Dhabi sent four groups of students to undergo a Work Placement Programme prepared by Injazat Information Technology Outsourcing. The delegates were trained on basic Network and Security, Enterprise Server Management, ITO Projects, and Engineering and Workplace Services.

“One of Injazat’s primary goals is to maximize the potential of professionals inside and outside of our organization. We believe, though, that talent should be cultivated at an early age, which is why we’ve been supporting initiatives such as those developed by VETI. The late president H.E. Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan himself often said that the nation’s greatest investment should be into the education and development of its youth, a philosophy which Injazat has fully incorporated into its community outreach programmes,” said Ibrahim Mohamed Lari, CEO, Injazat Data Systems.

Injazat also revealed that it will be offering internships to winners of the careers portal re-design competition organised by the Emirates Foundation’s Tawteen Programme. The contest is open to Emirati students nationwide and all entries will be showcased to the private sector on the portal itself and during a special event.

Injazat has helped in the growth of several UAE professionals, particularly through its business-oriented career development initiative, The Injazat Institute (TI2). The Institute provides world-class leadership and management solutions spanning the complete training cycle, from the identification of training needs through employee certification. The company currently employs 125 Emiratis who all have Career Development Plans linked to their current and future roles.

In 2009 Ti2 delivered 13,600 hours of professional training for Injazat’s UAE Nationals as part of its comprehensive Nationalization programme. Ti2 also focused on delivering internationally recognized certification programmes for its UAE Nationals in areas such as PMP, Leadership, CISCO, HP, Microsoft and ITIL. Aside from maximizing the potential of professionals, Injazat and Ti2 also plan to partner with more educational institutions to identify and develop young Emirati talent.

Injazat Data Systems, a joint venture between Mubadala Development Co. and HP, specializes in fields ranging from IT managed services and data centre services to professional training and defense consultancy. It holds more than 50 per cent of the UAE’s thriving IT outsourcing market.
