Canon Middle East Invites Photographers To Celebrate Their City As Part Of Region Wide Competition

Canon Middle East, the world leading innovator and provider of imaging technology, has announced the launch of its second regional photography competition which will launch on 5th March, 2010. The competition titled “Celebrating My City”, runs until 20th April and encourages photographers of all abilities to submit a metropolis inspired image from the region.

One winner from each of the thirteen participating countries from across the GCC, Levant and North Africa will stand a chance to win a state of the art DSLR EOS 500D or Pixma Pro 9500 Mark II photo printer. While the grand prize winner will win an all expenses paid trip to Dubai and Beirut - two of the Middle East’s most eye catching cities, as well as Canon’s latest DLSR - EOS 550D.

“Canon Middle East is committed to supporting photography in the region and aims to empower creativity among grass root photography enthusiasts and professionals alike. The great cities of the world have inspired some of the most iconic images of recent times, so it’s only fitting that the theme of this year’s regional competition is Celebrate My City. Given the diverse cityscapes across the Middle East we are anticipating receiving some amazing images from local photographers that capture the essence of city life in their home country,” said Hendrik Verbrugghe, CCI Marketing Manager, Canon Middle East.

With two nights stay at two of the region’s most lively cities, for two people, the regional grand prize winner will also get a chance to capture Beirut and Dubai with his or her new EOS 550D and benefit from tips of the trade from a professional photographer selected by Canon.

The competition is open to amateurs and professionals who are 18 years of age or above residing in UAE, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Lebanon, Syria, Egypt, Jordan, Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia.
