The Ferrari One 200, powered by AMD, fits in the lightweight category weighing 1.5 kilograms and has a 11.6" HD widescreen display. What sets it apart is the special Ferrari-engraved touchpad and the netbook's red cover complete with the yellow prancing horse emblem of the racing team. It also has tire-shape grips underneath the netbook's body, racing-inspired wallpaper and calendar, as well as a quick access key to Ferrari.com site.
Ferrari comes pre-installed with either the 64bit Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium or Windows 7 Home Home Basic with a 160 GB (or larger) hard disk drive. The netbook also includes Acer's Grid Vista, which simultaneously shows eight windows on dual display, as well as WiFi, Bluetooth and 3G connectivity (depends on the model configuration).
"The Ferrari name has always been associated with performance and reliability," said Mark Prosser, product marketing manager, Mobility Products, Acer Computer Middle East. "Tech-savvy customers across the Middle East region will appreciate the precision-driven supremacy and the powerful design elements of the Ferrari One."
The netbook is now available across the Middle East priced from $849 (about AED 3,115), a higher price tag from when it was initially launched in the United States in December last year for $599.99 (approximately AED 2,200).
Acer is also expected to launch the first Ferrari smartphone to select markets later this month.
