LG Increases Formula 1™ Programme With Cosworth Partnership

LG Electronics (LG), a global leader and technology innovator in consumer electronics, has increased its commitment to Formula 1™ by partnering with returning engine supplier Cosworth. LG will also be celebrating its thirteen month as A GLOBAL PARTNER OF FORMULA 1™ and A TECHNOLOGY PARTNER OF FORMULA 1™ at this year’s inaugural 2010 FORMULA 1 GULF AIR BAHRAIN GRAND PRIX (12-14th March), one of the most anticipated events in the international sporting calendar.

As both a Global Partner and a Technology Partner of Formula 1™, LG already has exclusive designations and marketing rights as the Official Consumer Electronics, Mobile Phone, Data Processor and Flat TV of Formula 1™. The new partnership agreement with Cosworth deepens LG’s relationship with the sport further.

Working with Cosworth as its Official Consumer Electronics Partner, LG will supply the engine manufacturer with LG technology such as LCD HD TV units with Digital Tuners, HD/DVD recorders, HD Projectors with Digital Tuner Capability, and most notably laptops to be used at F1™ races and at the company’s Formula One™ headquarters in the UK.

Cosworth is set to support as many as four teams for the 2010 championship, including some of the new teams entering the sport. The company has a rich heritage in Formula 1™ as an engine supplier for 44 consecutive years, 1963-2006 inclusive, powering 13 Formula 1™ Drivers’ World Championships and 10 Formula 1™ Constructors’ World Championships, spanning 176 Grands Prix events.
