Alcatel-Lucent Appoints Pierre Barnabé As Head Of Corporate Human Resources And Transformation

Alcatel-Lucent announced that Pierre Barnabé will be appointed as head of Corporate Human Resources and Transformation effective May 1st, 2010. Based in Paris headquarters, Pierre will report to Ben Verwaayen and will be a member of the company’s management committee. He replaces Claire Pedini, who has decided to leave the company to pursue other opportunities.

Pierre brings more than 10 years of industry experience and strong leadership in running a regional business unit. In his role, Pierre will lead the sustainable transformation of the company. He will ensure that Alcatel-Lucent becomes more responsive, moves decision making closer to the customer, fosters innovation, and ultimately achieves profitable growth. He will also develop all functional areas of Alcatel-Lucent Human Resources policy.

Since January 2009, he is Chairman and CEO of Alcatel-Lucent France. Prior to that, Pierre was President of the Regional Unit France, Italy, Spain, and Global Account Director of France Telecom Orange Group. From 1998 to December 2007, Pierre held various sales positions in France and Europe. He joined Alcatel-Lucent in 1998 as deputy head of the SFR key account.

Pierre Barnabé is a graduate of Ecole Centrale Paris and Ecole Superieure de Commerce de Rouen.
