Nawras Signs Electronic Recharge Agreement With Khimji Ramdas

Published Mar 21, 2010

Nawras recently signed an electronic recharge agreement with Khimji Ramdas to enable this premium distributor to start offering the added convenience of this environmentally friendly payment option to customers. Adding their respective signatures to the document were Tore Solberg, Nawras chief commercial officer and Jayanta G. Borpujari, general manager of Khimji Ramdas Information and Communication Technology.

This agreement extends the valuable partnership which has been in existence between Nawras and Khimji Ramdas for the past five years. During this exciting period of time, Nawras has grown from being the new entrant in Oman to being the award winning, trendsetting mobile services provider taking care of over 1.8 million customers, representing 47% market share.

During the signing ceremony, Solberg spoke about the extensive and reliable distribution network that has been an important contributing factor in the Nawras story. He said,”From the very beginning, Nawras promised to change what people buy and where they buy as well as how they pay and get help. Through the early establishment of an extensive distribution network including our key partnerships with premium distributors including Khimji Ramdas, we have been able to take Nawras products and services to the very doorsteps of our valued customers all over the Sultanate.”

Solberg thanked Khimji Ramdas for their important contribution and support. He went on to state that Nawras is looking forward to continuing to work together to encourage customers in the use of this plastic free recharge system which is not only offering more security and greater convenience but importantly, bringing a welcome alternative to less environmentally friendly options.

Khimji spokesman, Jayanta Borpujari, said: “We are proud to have been with Nawras since their launch. This partnership has been mutually beneficial and very enjoyable indeed. Once Nawras took the decision to introduce electronic recharge for customers it was natural that we agreed to join hands yet again. We have carefully chosen the right technology, devised a robust marketing policy and set up a strong network to make e-vouchers the preferred mode of recharge for customers. We are confident that electronic recharge shall gain popularity and soon become popular in Oman.”

Nawras, a Qtel Group company, has led the market by introducing many firsts including being the first to introduce electronic recharge for customers back in 2007. This latest development shows once again how Nawras customers always get more from their mobile experience so they can easily get closer to their friends and family.
