LG Consolidates Push Into Premium TV Market With Infinia LE8500 Full LED LCD TV

Published Mar 21, 2010

LG Electronics (LG), a major player in the global flat panel and audio-video devices market, has announced the launch of its INFINIA LE8500, the flagship model of its INFINIA LIVE BORDERLESS™ range. Boasting seamless connectivity, limitless content and a slim design, the LE8500 cements LG’s position as one of the top providers of super-premium home entertainment.

Equipped with Full LED Slim technology, the LE8500’s unique backlight structure enables the TV to have both an amazingly slim depth and a picture that is far superior to anything on conventional LED LCD TVs. Through its Spot Control technology, the LE8500 offers automatic local dimming of up to 240 addressable segments (on the 55 inch class), ensuring deep levels of black, excellent uniformity of picture and energy savings of up to 70 percent as compared with conventional LCD TVs. And making the picture even sharper, the LE8500’s TruMotion 240Hz technology greatly reduces motion blur even with the fastest action sequences.

“While always looking to make our TVs more stylish and equipped with even better features, we have never been willing to compromise the picture to do so. And in all these respects, the LE8500 is a major success,” said Mr H.S Paik, President of LG Electronics Gulf FZE. “With its excellent connectivity, this INFINIA TV really does let our customers ‘live borderless,’ with a practically limitless choice of content for a whole new viewing experience.”

Enticingly slim and with an extremely slim bezel, the LE8500’s BORDERLESS™ design offers the ultimate in home entertainment style with a 47- or 55-inch widescreen for a truly immersive picture. The LE8500 also breaks through viewing borders with its superb connectivity. Supporting Digital Living Network Alliance (DLNA), the TV can be connected wirelessly to compatible home AV devices, allowing consumers to seamlessly share music, movies and pictures among their PCs and home entertainment systems. And with its wireless AV link, the LE8500 can transmit its sound through the best speakers in the house.

The benefits continue to unfold with the LE8500’s NetCast™ Entertainment System, which enables viewers to access such popular online services as web albums, video streaming and free video calls from the comfort of their own couch.

With its BORDERLESS™ design, outstanding picture and seamless connectivity with the Web and stored content, the LG LE8500 offers a home entertainment experience with more possibilities than ever.
