UAE Securities And Commodities Authority Becomes First Federal Entity To Adopt Windows 7

Microsoft Gulf announced that the Emirates Securities and Commodities Authority (SCA) is the first Federal government entity to implement Windows 7 to enhance internal user productivity and streamline operations. Following the implementation of Windows 7, SCA has been able to reduce operational expenses and significantly improve overall efficiencies. The operating system also allows the organization to have a secure and reliable platform while giving them the advantage of enhanced functionality and user interface.
Windows 7 enables SCAs IT staff to streamline deployment processes; deliver desktop services more efficiently and significantly reduce the cost of supporting PC users. These capabilities are enabled by a broad array of new and improved Windows 7 features. Furthermore, SCA has adopted Microsoft technologies across the breadth of its operations right from infrastructure and server management to the Intranet portal.

So, under the guidance of the SCA board and CEO and the directives of H.E. Abdullah Salem Al Turifi, SCA Chief Executive Officer, we implemented Windows 7 across the organization and are very pleased with the way this new operating system works.”

In 2009, SCA opted to upgrade to the Windows 7 operating system, keeping in line with its strategy for using the most advanced technologies as part of its long-term goals. Specifically, it sought to reduce costs by using built-in security enhancements and also wanted to improve information access for employees. The team ran a pilot program with approximately 10 users. Now, Windows 7 runs across 200 users within the organization.
