2nd Asian Beach Games Muscat 2010 Portal Live From ITWorx

Published Mar 30, 2010

ITWorx, a leading software professional services organization in the Middle East, announced the successful delivery and launch of the 2nd Asian Beach Games Muscat 2010 portal. Sanctioned by the Olympic Council of Asia, the Asian Beach Games is a multi-sport event held every two years. The 2nd Asian Beach Games Muscat 2010 will be held in Muscat, Oman from 8-16 December and is the country’s largest-ever international sporting event. The Games will celebrate sporting and cultural diversity from across Asia while embracing Omani heritage and values.

The Muscat Asian Beach Games portal was built by ITWorx on Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007, an integrated suite of server capabilities that improve organizational effectiveness by providing comprehensive content management and enterprise search, accelerating shared business processes, and facilitating information-sharing for better business insight. The SharePoint collaboration and content management server provides the event’s organizers with tools needed for server administration, application extensibility, and interoperability.

For visitors, the portal currently features rich content about the Games, a media center with all the latest news and photos as well as downloadable materials, an event calendar, information on how to get involved, including job vacancies and sponsorship, and general information about Oman. Further content will be added as the event approaches, while the second phase will enrich the portal with additional features.

“ITWorx expertise in portal development is extensive. We’ve delivered portals to organizations around in the world in a variety of industries and for many purposes. For international events, such as the Muscat Asian Beach Games, it is crucial that the right information is accessible from anywhere on the globe at the right time and through a convenient and friendly channel.” said Hossam Badr, ITWorx Regional Sales Director – EMEA.

The ITWorx portal is designed to provide multi-lingual support as well as content targeting, search, and team collaboration to ensure that the Muscat Asian Beach Games audience can access the required information securely and efficiently.
