Greater Focus On Datacentre Efficiency To Drive Demand For IT Cooling Solutions In The Region, Says Tripp Lite

Published Mar 31, 2010

Greater focus on datacentre efficiency, which reflects concerns around costs and the improved utilisation of current assets, is set to drive demand for IT cooling solutions in the region, according to Tripp Lite, a world leading manufacturer of power protection and connectivity equipment. With aims to leverage the demand, the company has launched two new models under the ‘SmartRack’ compact air conditioning range - the SRCOOL12K and the SRXCOOL12K, which are designed for rack enclosures, network closets and server rooms.

The new, easy-to-install 12,000 BTU models, which are available for 120V or 230V applications, provide supplemental cooling for electronic equipment in locations where facility air conditioning cannot reach or does not provide adequate cooling to overcome environmental conditions. Importantly, what sets these new models apart is the ability to re-evaporate the condensation back into the exhaust air stream without the need to collect the condensate in a tank, which means that the systems do not require refrigerant piping or plumbing, and run as a maintenance-free operation. Packed with an installation kit for window or dropped ceiling exhaust, the new ‘SmartRack’ units fit in confined spaces where facility air conditioning cannot reach.

“At present, many network and server closets do not have property cooling, which pose a great risk of break down for these mission critical systems,” said Vipin Sharma, Vice President, EEMEA and India Sales, Tripp Lite. “As the need within the region for district cooling systems arises, so does the requirement for adequate air conditioning units for rack enclosures, network closets and server rooms, which power the operations of many regional businesses. The launch of our new ‘SmartRack’ compact air conditioning units underlines our commitment to providing the region with eco-friendly refrigerant that meets global environmental standards.”
