Avaya’s Roger El Tawil Named Channel Executive Of The Year 2010

Published Apr 6, 2010

Avaya’s Roger El Tawil was named Channel Executive of the Year 2010 at the recently held Channel Middle East Awards 2010. El Tawil, who is currently the Managing Director for Avaya in the Gulf and Pakistan, was selected by a panel of judges and the editors of Channel Middle East for the most coveted award in the region’s channel community.

In its third year, the Channel Middle East Awards – organised by publishing house ITP - pays tribute to the outstanding achievements of vendors and their channel partners during the past year. The Channel Executive of the Year award honours the contribution of channel executives to driving channel growth through business development, channel expansion, and reseller initiatives. Avaya was also shortlisted for the ‘Networking Vendor of the Year Award’, and ‘Channel Partner Program of the Year Award’ – a reader-voted category. More than 350 channel executives attended the event, which took place at the Constellation Ballroom at The Address, Dubai Marina.

“Roger has played an instrumental role in driving channel profitability and helping resellers increase their market position through training, certification and sales incentives,” said Andrew Seymour, Editor of Channel Middle East. “He has done a commendable job of expanding the size of Avaya’s regional partner network to in excess of 220 companies and developing a model that now sees more than 90% of its business transacted through the channel – a higher portion than the organisation has achieved anywhere else in the world.”

“Avaya has developed some great initiatives for the channel in the region and made significant progress in furthering the company’s channel-centric strategy.” said El Tawil. “The regional team has supported me throughout this period, and the cooperation from our partners has been overwhelming.”

El Tawil has led Avaya’s channel for more than five years as Channel and Marketing Director in MENA, Turkey, and Greece. He has been with Avaya since 2004 and his efforts and expertise have helped to position Avaya as an industry leader in the region today.
