Middle Eastern Markets Showing Growing Interest In Mirror TV Technology

Published Apr 12, 2010

The Middle Eastern markets are showing increasing demand for “Mirror TV” technology for various applications. In line with this, ad notam, the leading manufacturer of Mirror TVs, is exploring Middle Eastern applications of its “Mirror TV” technology which it uses to create custom-engineered display systems that integrate conventional mirror surfaces with LCD-LED technology.

A Mirror TV can be converted from a display system to a mirror or a regular glass surface. ad notam uses its patented Mirror Image technology to fabricate LCDs that require no ventilation, can operate above the 40º maximal operational temperature of generic LCDs, and support screen sizes of anywhere from 6.4 to 82 inches. These special displays are mounted magnetically to glass surfaces and appear invisible when switched off. The unique viewing system has become popular for bath spaces and restrooms where monitors are not usually found. ad notam’s Mirror Image-powered Mirror TVs can be applied in diverse residential, hospitality and corporate settings such as bathrooms, kitchens, furniture, lobbies, elevators, conference rooms, and digital signage.

ad notam’s Mirror TVs are attracting greater interest within the Middle East. The company recently installed Mirror Image LCD systems of various screen sizes throughout the rooms, restaurants and elevators of the five-star Meydan Hotel in Dubai managed by the Jumeirah Group. The world’s first horserace trackside hotel started receiving guests in March 2010 in time for the opening of the Meydan Racecourse, the new home of the prestigious Dubai World Cup and the latest global venue for elite horseracing.

“When we started making our systems nine years ago, our goal was to accentuate both the LCD monitor and the stylized glass it was attached to and integrate them in unique ways with other elements such as furniture and mirrors. We have had major global success with this concept, and this time we want to focus on the Middle East where many of our products’ properties such as heat resistance and low power consumption are highly suited. The region is a solid market for both ‘smart home’ technologies and creative interior design, so our Mirror TVs can help resolve conflicts between home automation and interior styling,” said Hanai Atatreh, Managing Director, ad notam ME.

ad notam develops and manufactures its Mirror TVs at its facilities in the south of Germany. The company’s products are sold in more than 50 countries and have gained particularly strong demand among major hospitality brands such as the Ritz Carlton, W Hotel, and the Hilton. Mirror TVs based on ad notam’s Mirror Image technology have won numerous awards from bodies such as the US Department of Energy, Times Online Magazine, the Consumer Electronic Show, and Home Beautiful.
