Following a highly successful pioneering launch last year, the 2010 edition of the Data Centre Strategies Middle East forum running from May 25 to 26, 2010 at the Injazat Data Systems Auditorium in Abu Dhabi will discuss the growing demand for data centre services with special emphasis on enterprise customers and their evolving outsourcing requirements. The event will also introduce the region’s first-ever awards for data centre service excellence, the Data Centre Strategies Middle East Awards.
To be held under the theme “ (Towards Enterprise Clouds) - Data Centre Services Change, User Requirements, and Sustainability ”, the forum’s second edition will explore private cloud computing and other new technologies as well as vital market trends. It will also feature an open exhibition and various networking opportunities. Injazat Data Systems, the leading information technology and business process managed services provider in the UAE and the Middle East, will act as both event patron and host.
“Since we welcomed the first major strategic forum for data centre and cloud computing operators, managed services, and outsourcing last year we have witnessed a huge increase in the number of investments and transactions into this field. The downturn has really put a lot of emphasis on the numerous advantages of data centres, and even if a recovery materializes this year we expect organizations to continue patronizing these facilities. It’s a perfect time for us to assess how far this industry has gone and what directions it should pursue in the next decade or so,” said Ibrahim Mohamed Lari, CEO Injazat.
The 2nd Data Centre Strategies Middle East conference will feature 11 special sessions that will cover diverse topics ranging from capacity growth and financing to sustainability and power cost reduction. Other highlights include an Executive Leadership Roundtable starting off the two-day event, a 2010 Review of the State of the Market, and a Special Workshop on Data Centre Security. The new Awards, which will include 11 categories such as ‘Best Collocation Middle East Facility,’ ‘Best Middle East Green Initiative,’ and ‘Best Managed Services Provider Middle East Region,’ is expected to boost quality and standards throughout the region’s fledgling data centre industry.
“The best way to substantially expand data centre practices throughout the region is to put decision makers and stakeholders together and discuss and debate on key industry issues, which is what this forum is doing. The awards are an excellent addition as they provide a strong incentive for players to enhance their offerings. IT will assume an increasingly major role as the region’s organizations seek higher levels of efficiency, and data centre strategies Middle East will provide a platform to determine how data centres can contribute to this trend,” added Philip Low, Managing Director, BroadGroup.
Injazat Data Systems has been a major supporter of the forum since its inception in 2009. As the owner of the first Tier IV design-certified data centre in the Middle East, Injazat has been actively promoting the benefits of data centre services as well as other advanced managed IT offerings.
