Published Apr 18, 2010

Canon Middle East, the world specialist in digital imaging and business solutions, along with Canon Emirates, Canon's Business Solutions Partner in the UAE, hosted its much anticipated Essential Business Builder Program (EBBP) for the capital's CRD (corporate reprographics) organisations.

Showcasing techniques designed to empower the CRD sector to succeed in 2010, Canon reconfirmed its commitment to the Abu Dhabi market. The Abu Dhabi session held at the Emirates Palace Hotel was the second of a series of EBBP events scheduled for 2010 in the Mena region.

Leading Abu Dhabi entities such as Musanda, Abu Dhabi University attended the EBBP seminar which covered the theme of trends and opportunities in corporate reprographics. The attendees of the innovative EBBP session walked away with practical ways to maximise the cost effectiveness of their corporate reprographics departments and improve productivity through a series of interactive workshops and one-to-one consultancy.

Ayman Aly, Product Manager, Canon Middle East, says, "Given the current economic climate, organisations need to look for ways of streamlining costs incurred within their corporate reprographics department and give them a competitive edge. EBBP Abu Dhabi has helped decision makers of the local CRD market explore new avenues of growth and cost effectiveness. This is testament to Canon's commitment to helping customers drive business performance and remain on the path to profit."

Canon's Essential Business Builder Program acts as a support and consultancy package for its customers in the shape of information guides, and one-day group workshops. The workshops are run by independent consultants who tailor the modules to fit with their country requirements.

The EBBP Abu Dhabi session was conducted by internationally acclaimed print expert, Marcus Doo, Managing Partner, Mood Group. Marcus has worked within the print and publishing arena for more than 25 years, the first sixteen in UK and the last nine in the Middle East. Throughout his career Marcus has held several stake holder executive management positions. Marcus has managed and developed Printing companies through Start-Up, Turn-Around, Rapid Growth, Acquisition, Merger and Disposal. With a wealth of practical knowledge and proven international best practice, his workshops on how to set up CRDs have proven to be a useful tool for attendees.

"As a company, we invest an enormous amount of time and money in developing our customers' businesses. We manufacture and sell cutting edge technology and it is essential we help our customers utilise this technology to maximum effect. Canon's EBBP will be instrumental in achieving this goal for our local customers," concluded Aly.

Recently Canon Emirates and AST partnered in the UAE on one of Abu Dhabi's largest professional print projects with the opening of a new digital print centre. The partnership combines Canon's world class state-of-the-art printing solutions with AST's high-end printing services and enables both parties to target growth in key vertical markets such as Education, Healthcare, Construction, Real Estate, Hotels, Sports & leisure and Oil & Gas.

"Canon's initiatives in Abu Dhabi represent our commitment to supporting local business. By providing Abu Dhabi based clients with on-the-ground access to our expertise and consultancy, Canon enables companies to streamline their business solutions," concluded Aly.
