Mobiserve Unveils Regional Expansion Plans

Published Apr 18, 2010

Mobiserve Holding (www.mobiserveholding.com), a leader in turnkey telecommunication infrastructure solutions and engineering services, announced its further expansion into African markets thanks to the success of its subsidiary Mobiserve Kenya. Mobiserve Kenya is rapidly gaining market share in Africa, which is considered to be a key growth market for the Holding Group.

Established in August 2009, Mobiserve Kenya provides the Holding Group’s full scope of turnkey telecommunications infrastructure, engineering, operation and maintenance services for the East Africa region. In less than a year, it has made great strides in the market, having completed several high profile projects in Kenya. The subsidiary works closely with East Africa’s foremost operators Safaricom, Orange, and LEO Burundi as well as leading vendors Alcatel Lucent, Huawei, and Nokia Siemens Networks. Mobiserve Kenya is now actively participating in several tenders with Safaricom and Orange in the region.

Mobiserve Kenya has also begun to achieve several customer wins in neighboring countries, having recently been awarded new telecom infrastructure sites, switch building, as well as telecom installation projects by LEO Burundi. This is in addition to prior project awards supplying Mobifactory manufactured towers to LEO Burundi and Telecel Zimbabwe. It has since established branch offices in Uganda and Burundi, to provide responsive on the ground support for customers and is now set to begin its first project in Uganda this month. As a result, Mobiserve Holding plans to further expand in the region and provide its full scope of services to operators in Tanzania, Rwanda, and Zimbabwe from its subsidiary’s hub in Nairobi.

Commenting on the announcement, Sameh Atalla, Mobiserve CEO said, "Mobiserve Holding is committed to Africa’s great potential. The telecom sector is the fastest growing sector on the continent and country markets are becoming increasingly dynamic with new entrants, services, and the upgrading of current network infrastructure. We are seeing an increased focus on data centric services in Kenya for example and the related investment in network infrastructure to enhance mobile data transmission.”

“Going forward, we intend to continue to build on the success Mobiserve Kenya has achieved to date as well as expand service coverage to operators in Tanzania, Rwanda, and Zimbabwe with the goal of becoming the foremost telecom services provider throughout Africa,” concluded Attalla.

Since 1999, Mobiserve Holding has provided the region superior turnkey telecommunication infrastructure solutions and engineering services, and is represented in 9 countries across the Middle East, Africa, and South Asia. The Cairo based Holding company’s African expansion highlights its commitment to better serving its growing African customer base and providing best in class services coupled with local market expertise.

Mobiserve Holding’s broad range of services encompass turnkey communications solutions for next generation telecom networks, satellite services, the manufacturing of telecoms towers and shelters, as well as infrastructure deployment, operations and management.
