Published Apr 19, 2010

Extreme Networks, Inc. announced that it has joined the RSA Secured® Partner Program to certify interoperability between its ExtremeXOS® operating system and the RSA enVision® security information and event management platform from RSA, The Security Division of EMC. Certification establishes technical interoperability to promote more pervasive, network-wide security solutions.

Extreme Networks next generation modular operating system, ExtremeXOS, delivers cutting-edge security features, including awareness of user and device identity, authentication, encryption, integrity and protection, flexible file-based policy language, and XML across Extreme Networks complete portfolio of high performance BlackDiamond® and Summit® switches.

“Extending network and security functions throughout the network infrastructure and surrounding platforms is a win for our mutual customers,” said Aziz Ala’ali, Regional Director for Extreme Networks, Middle East & Africa. “Utilizing intelligent flow data and event information from our switching platforms, across the backbone and edge of the network, and extending interoperability to RSA’s enVision platform, provides increased visibility into security and network events, allowing network administrators to respond quickly, accurately and decisively.”

“We are pleased to team up with Extreme Networks to help meet the unique needs of the enterprise by providing joint customers with a next generation modular operating system that has proved to enable a clear path for security and information event management,” said Ted Kamionek, Vice President, Business Development & Technical Alliances at RSA. “This inventive collaboration provides another critical step forward in helping to best protect the organization’s information, identities and infrastructures.”

The RSA enVision platform is designed to give organizations a single, integrated solution for Security Information and Event Management to simplify compliance, enhance security operations, and optimize IT and network operations. The RSA enVision solution provides automated collection, analysis, and reporting of log and event data.
