Injazat Leading In The Gulf Region In Adoption Of Microsoft Latest Technologies

Published Apr 20, 2010

Injazat Data Systems, the leading information technology and business process managed services provider in the UAE and the Middle East, has announced that it is the first organization in the region to be chosen as an early adopter of Microsoft Exchange Server 2010. Microsoft is working with The Injazat Institute (Ti2), Injazat’s business-oriented career development initiative, on the company-wide adoption of the new version starting with a hands-on workshop and training session that will be conducted by premier field engineers from Microsoft Services.

Titled “Transitioning from MS Exchange 200X to MS Exchange 2010,” the sessions were conducted in February 2010. Members of Injazat’s Technical Delivery, Solutioning and Product Development teams were taught advanced troubleshooting skills to resolve migration faults from earlier versions of Exchange and perform migration following Microsoft Best Practices and Recommendations. Trainees were also introduced to new enhanced features including the system’s ability to support a virtualized environment.

Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 is the latest release of Microsoft’s highly popular client-server collaborative application product. Its major functions include electronic mail, calendaring, contacts, tasks, mobile- and web-based data access, and support for data storage. One of its new features is the database availability group (DAG), a set of up to 16 Mailbox Servers that provide automatic database-level recovery from a database, server, ornetwork failure. Injazat is upgrading from its current Microsoft Exchange 2003 installation in order to enhance its client support readiness and affirm its commitment to adopting and managing new technologies. Ti2 will oversee internal and external training activities related to the upgrade of the new productivity tool.

“It is very important for us to adopt the latest technologies to ensure that we provide world-class, cutting-edge services to our clients. At the same time, we want our own operations to be optimized by such technologies. It is a privilege to be one of the early adopters of the technology and we aim to use the system to boost competitiveness and operational performance,” said Ali Al Zein Operations Director, Injazat Data Systems.

“Andréa Li-Sai Chimento - Service Director for Microsoft Gulf” said, “Now, more than ever, organizations require cost-effective and flexible communication tools. With Microsoft Exchange Server 2010, businesses can achieve new levels of reliability and performance with features that simplify administration, help protect data and meet their demands for greater mobility. Microsoft Exchange Server is the cornerstone of Microsoft’s Unified Communications solution and is designed to lower costs and increase productivity”.

Exchange Server 2010 was officially launched just last November of 2009. Its key features include configurability of a database availability group of up to 16 mailbox servers for automatic database-level recovery from failures; as much as 70 percent reduction in disk IO over Exchange 2007 and 90 percent reduction over Exchange 2003; and centrally managed and enforced information protection and control capabilities. Overall the server offers greatly enhanced security, performance and administration at significantly reduced cost.

Injazat Data Systems holds more than 50 percent of the UAE's IT managed services market and constantly adopts the latest ICT technologies to maintain its service and performance leadership. Injazat owns the first Tier IV design-certified data centre in the Middle East.

Injazat has supported the development of UAE Nationals through its business-oriented career development initiative, The Injazat Institute (Ti2). Ti2 provides world-class leadership and management solutions spanning the complete training cycle, from the identification of training needs through employee certification. Injazat currently employs 125 Emiratis; all have Career Development Plans (CDP’s) linked to their current and future roles. In 2009 Ti2 delivered 13,600 hours of professional training for Injazat’s UAE Nationals as part of its comprehensive Emiratisation program. Ti2 also focused on delivering internationally recognized certification programs for its UAE Nationals in areas such as PMP, Leadership, CISCO, HP, Microsoft, Oracle and ITIL. Aside from maximizing the potential of professionals, Injazat and Ti2 also plans to partner with more educational institutions to identify and develop young Emirati talent.
