Philanthropists and community development leaders from the UAE and across the region once again gathered at the Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi to support the 4th Arab Giving Forum. They discussed and promoted the culture of giving as well as encouraged more corporate social responsibility (CSR) among individuals and companies during the 2010 Abu Dhabi CSR Conference held simultaneously with the Forum. Her Majesty Rania Al Abdullah, Queen consort of Jordan, and H.R.H. Prince Al-Waleed Bin Talal, a member of the Saudi Royal Family, were honoured for their philanthropic achievements.
Injazat Data Systems, the leading information technology and business process managed services provider in the UAE and the Middle East and a silver sponsor of the event, is a regular supporter of the Arab Giving Forum and various other CSR activities, This year’s Forum was held under the Patronage of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Ruler’s Representative in the Western Region and Chairman, UAE Red Crescent Authority.
“Injazat measures its success not only through its operational achievements but by how much it gives back to the community as well. The Arab Giving Forum is an important annual event for us to assess the level of assistance we provide to society and see how we can further improve our engagement in this field. We want to emphasize that CSR is not just about handing out donations; it is about forging enduring partnerships with governments, companies and non-government groups in order to come up with unified solutions to vital issues such as unemployment, environmental degradation, and illiteracy,” said Ibrahim Mohamad Lari, CEO, Injazat Data Systems.
The 2010 edition was held under the theme ‘Investing in the Future’ and discussed the integration of CSR into the business strategy rather than treating it as a set of occasional charitable activities. It enabled participants to meet international CSR experts; network with key representatives from the private, public, civil society and mass media sectors; and evaluate CSR implementation best practices and standards.
Injazat Data Systems supports various other CSR events and related organizations, such as the Tawteen portal competition and Injaz education initiatives. The company leads the UAE’s IT managed services market and manages the first Tier IV design-certified data centre in the Middle East.
