LG Electronics (LG), a global leader and technology innovator, has announced the launch of its first official Arabic content website, http://www.lg.com/ae_ar. The new Arabic website will contribute to the growing company’s brand exposure and digital presence and will make it easier for Arabic customers to interact with the brand.
“Internet usage in the region has seen unprecedented growth in recent years, with the UAE experiencing the region’s highest online penetration rate of 60 per cent,” said Mr. Ki Wan Kim, CEO of LG Electronics Middle East and Africa Regional Company. “We at LG are committed to providing all our customers with information and services. The new Arabic language website will allow us to interact with a much wider audience”.
With hundreds of thousands of visitors a month, the LG English website is often the first stop for many consumers looking for information about the company’s products and services. The dedicated Arabic website will enable LG Electronics to further consolidate its online presence in the region by helping to bridge the big gap between English and Arabic content. As many as 3.5 million of the 4.8 residents in the UAE are online. In fact out of the world’s 1.8 billion web users, 60.2 million (3.3 per cent) are Arabic speakers. Launching an Arabic content website is a strategic move on LG’s part.
The new portal has been specifically developed to cater for LG’s Arabic customers residing within UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman & Bahrain. In line with the social media renaissance currently taking place across the region, LG’s latest initiative will allow Arabic customers to browse LG’s website, view all of LG’s latest products from the comfort of their own home.
“LG is a global brand with millions of customers worldwide. In this part of the world, it is extremely important to have a bilingual website in order to reach the widest audience possible,” said Mr. H.S Paik, President of LG Electronics Gulf FZE. “Local language content will allow our customers to feel a greater sense of trust and connection with the destination website. From a business aspect, this move is an absolute must.”
