Flexible Business Solutions That Enable Efficiency, Key Focus For Companies In Oman

Published May 25, 2010

Business Monitor International (BMI) values the Omani IT market at around USD 327 million for 2010 up from USD 308 million in 2009. BMI also expects a market compound growth of 5% for 2010 – 2014. Companies in Oman wanting to achieve short and long-term profitability must holistically manage the ‘triple bottom line’ of economic, social, and environmental opportunities, commented SAP Executives meeting in Muscat.

As an emerging market, Oman is being affected by business forces including an increased need for business insight to enable end-to-end best-run business processes. Omani organizations of all sizes must focus on business solutions that optimize performance, and offer the insight and agility needed to close the gap between strategy and execution.

“The Omani government is significantly investing in IT as part of its Digital Oman Initiative, and SAP is committed to driving innovations in Oman. The country’s economy is relatively well positioned for a quick recovery from the global credit crunch, but companies across all sectors must open themselves to the new realities shaping the markets today if they really want to stand out. SAP possess vast industry know how that can help Omani businesses take a holistic approach to solving key business challenges and establish themselves as regional and future global players,” said Sergio Maccotta, Managing Director, SAP Middle East and North Africa.

According to SAP Executives, who were addressing Omani business leaders in Muscat as part of the SAP World Tour, managing the ‘triple bottom line’ is the most assured way to promote business longevity and consistent growth.

To survive in today's business environment, companies must see clearly, think clearly, and act clearly. Only those with the visibility to act effectively and decisively will survive and thrive in the current business conditions to emerge in a stronger competitive position, heard delegates attending the event.

“See Your Way Clear: Strategies for Success in the New Reality” is the theme of the tour, which will visit key markets across the region including KSA, Qatar, Jordan, and Lebanon, to explore how regional organizations can achieve transparency in every area of their operations, and become sustainable, best-run businesses.

Attendees also have the opportunity to learn more about how SAP can facilitate these goals by industry and business area, and how an increasing number of organizations are benchmarking against their peers and re-thinking IT investments in terms of high-impact value creation.

The SAP World Tour also provides an exclusive opportunity for attendees to share best practices and ideas with other top-level executives, SAP customers and partners, and receive exclusive previews of future SAP applications.
